InfantSEE® Exam in Spring Hill

Are you wondering if your baby’s vision could be affecting milestones like tracking, reaching, crawling, or early learning? Spring Hill Eyecare is proud to participate in InfantSEE®, a public health program that helps make infant eye care accessible, regardless of insurance coverage or household income.

As an InfantSEE® provider in Spring Hill, we offer a one-time, no-cost comprehensive eye and vision assessment for infants 6 to 12 months of age. During this exam, we check how your child’s eyes are developing and check for any concerns that could affect their visual development.

Why infant eye exams are important

Your baby’s visual system is developing rapidly during the first year of life. Their eyes and brain are learning to work together and building skills like focusing, eye teaming, and tracking. Because these changes happen so early, some vision concerns can start affecting development long before school begins.

An InfantSEE® exam at Spring Hill Eyecare allows us to detect potential concerns early, giving your child a strong start from the beginning. If anything needs closer attention, we may recommend regular pediatric eye exams to keep an eye on their development.

Signs your baby may need an eye exam

Some signs of vision problems can be easy to miss, and many babies won’t show obvious symptoms. It’s important to schedule an eye exam if you notice any of the following:

  • Excessive tearing or frequent eye discharge
  • Eyes that consistently cross, drift, or appear misaligned
  • Sensitivity to light
  • Frequent blinking, rubbing, or squinting
  • Limited eye contact or difficulty following objects

If you’re unsure, we can help you decide whether an InfantSEE® exam is the right next step for your child.
